Airtel is offering Rs 49 recharge pack for free to low-income customers
The company is also providing double benefit on a select plan
Both are one-time gestures for customers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
Telecom operator Airtel has announced two special benefits to its customers. They are aimed at customers with low incomes to help them remain connected during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Recently Reliance Jio had announced similar benefits for Jio Phone users.
The new benefits are said to be worth Rs 270 crore. In a statement the company said that ‘Through this gesture Airtel will empower over 55 million customers, mostly in rural areas, to stay connected and have access to critical information when needed.’

Airtel is offering Rs 49 recharge packs free of cost to 55 million customers, mostly in rural areas. The plan includes a talk time of Rs 38 and 100MB data with a validity of 28 days. Secondly, Airtel realizes has also introduced a double benefit on a recharge plan of Rs 79. The pack includes a talk time of Rs 128 and data worth 200MB. It is also valid for 28 days.
It’s worth noting that the two benefits will be rolled out to customers in the coming week.
Airtel’s latest benefits aim to counter Reliance Jio’s offers for Jio Phone users. The latter offers 300 minutes of free outgoing calls per month and a buy one, get one offer on most recharge plans.
