Vi offers Rs 49 prepaid recharge plan free for low-income users, double benefits on Rs 79 plan

India is witnessing the largest ever surge in the COVID-19 cases, which has resulted in various state governments imposing lockdowns. In such dire times, smartphone brands are extending warranties to help customers and telcos like Jio and Airtel have announced complimentary benefits to lower-income consumers. Vi (formerly Vodafone Idea)  is the latest to join the bandwagon and extend a helping hand.

Just like Airtel, Vi is offering a free Rs 49 prepaid recharge plan to low-income consumers. Additionally, the telecom operator is offering double benefits with the Rs 79 prepaid plan to its users. Here are all details of the special COVID-19 relief offer from Vi for its 60 million low-income customers.

As part of the COVID-19 relief offer, Vi is providing a free Rs 49 prepaid recharge plan to around 60 million low-income customers as a one-time offer. With this offer, the telecom operator will be providing benefits of up to Rs 294 crores to its low-income group users. Additionally, the company has also announced double benefits on the Rs 79 prepaid pack for lower-income consumers.

The Rs 79 Vi prepaid recharge generally offers Rs 64 talk time and 200MB data, with 28-day validity. However, as part of the COVID-19 relief offer, users will get Rs 128 talk time. The data balance and validity of the pack remain the same as before. Those recharging through the Vi app or website will get 200MB of extra data. Vi is offering the free Rs 49 prepaid pack and double benefits on Rs 79 pack as a one-time gesture.

Notably, Airtel is also offering free Rs 49 prepaid plan to 55 million low-income group customers as a one-time gesture. And the Rs 79 prepaid pack a talk time of Rs 128 and data worth 200MB valid for 28 days. On the other hand, Jio is offering 300 minutes of free outgoing calls per month capped at 10 minutes per day and a buy one, get one offer on most recharge plans.
